# 5. Reviews, credentials and commercial claims

The FTC review/testimonial rules are material to any desk comparing advisers. Never publish a fabricated buyer review or conceal an ownership link that would mislead readers. Make a written distinction among *provider self-description*, *independently verified fact* and *desk assessment*. Where a provider presents returns, valuation growth or saved capital, ask for method, period, denominator and comparators; do not repeat unverified claims.
